Sweet Shopping in Melbourne

Shopping in Melbourne is one of my favourite pastimes and one destination I recommend is Emporium Melbourne, which is located near the Melbourne Marriott Hotel and where you will find great boutiques including Alannah Hill, Mimco and Aesop. And while you’re exercising your credit card make sure you make time to stop over at Zumbo for some of the best macarons in the world, which chef Adriano Zumbo calls Zumbarons.

While some may argue that only the French can make the best macarons, with Ladurée and Pierre Hermé on everyone’s must-visit pastry shops when in Paris, and while I do succumb to the delicious round delights in Paris myself, I must say that Zumbo’s macarons are just as good, and offers flavours that cannot be found anywhere else, including the cinnamon doughnut flavour, bringing two of my favourite sweets together, and it will only take one bite to get you addicted too.

The Australian pastry chef is also a master when it comes to cakes, so if you have a sweet tooth indulge in his lemon meringue tart, which is topped with lashings of deliciously fluffy meringue cream.
